Introduction to the SBIR and STTR programs

The Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) and the Small-business Technology TRansfer (STTR) programs are competitive federal programs, open only to small business entities. The programs provide non-dilutive funding to support research and development activities aiming to create new commercial products.

This workshop provides basic information about the federal SBIR and STTR programs. Topics to be discussed are:
• Benefits and limitations of SBIR/STTR funding
• Steps to prepare for the writing and submission processes
• How to assess your competitiveness
• Where to find more information

The workshop is designed to provide information to the prospective applicant before the commitment to write and submit a Phase I SBIR or STTR proposal.
Who should attend: Founders and senior scientific/technical staff of technology-oriented US small businesses, who are considering applying for Phase I SBIR or STTR funds.

Time: 1h, including time to answer audience questions
